The most daring raid by the British 6th Airborne Division took place on the night of June 5–6, when troops landed in six gliders and captured two bridges, crucial to the Allied forces, without suffering any damage. This operation was led and successfully carried out by Major Howard and 180 men from the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry Regiment.
